For civilian self-protection, the emphasis is on avoidance, evasion, escape, and possible de-escalation.
The best self-protection strategy is
simply do not be there.
Developing strong situational awareness and quickly recognizing pre-threat behaviors are key to achieving these objectives. These personal security elements form the foundation of 'soft skills' training.
If the use of force becomes necessary,
our approach is to be pre-emptive whenever possible, employing a physical response that quickly and effectively neutralizes the threat.
This strategy is strongly supported by counter-offensive contingency plans in case pre-emption isn't feasible.
We strive to respond with a level of force parallel to the threat, ensuring that our actions are both reasonable and necessary given the circumstances, to enable an escape at the earliest opportunity.
Our approach addresses two crucial aspects of real-life confrontations: dealing with weapons and facing multiple attackers. Both of these factors significantly increase the threat level, and we train to respond effectively to meet that challenge. To truly prepare for self-protection, it’s essential to practice for the realities of these situations—because if you’re not training for weapons and multiple attackers, you’re not preparing for the real world.
